Stop what you’re doing! Madonna has released the second single off her new album — “I Rise.”

“I wrote ‘I Rise’ as a way of giving a voice to all marginalized people who feel they don’t have the opportunity to speak their mind,” Madonna said in a statement.

The song opens up with an audio sample from Parkland shooting survivor Emma Gonzalez, and includes lyrics that seem to be about gun violence in addition to more general statements of empowerment.

“This year is the 50th anniversary of Pride and I hope this song encourages all individuals to be who they are, to speak their minds and to love themselves,” Madonna said.

That “I Rise” is a Stonewall tribute isn’t a surprise to any Madonna fans. She gave an unannounced performance at the site on New Year’s Eve, and rumors have been swirling ever since that she would release music in honor of the anniversary.

It’s a busy week for Madonna, as the pop icon is set to be honored at GLAAD this weekend. She will receive the Advocate for Change Award for all her work with the LGBTQ community.

Madame X will be Madonna’s 14th album and is set to be released on June 14th — but in the meantime, check out the song below!
