Shania Twain, Reba, and more make up this country's singer formative years playlist.

We all have those songs that are forever ingrained in our coming-of-age stories. Songs that gave us hope, played during our first kiss, helped us feel fierce, or simply helped us understand ourselves a little bit better. This is oftentimes particularly true for LGBTQ artists.

Throughout the month of June, and only on PRIDE, LGBTQ+ artists are curating and sharing playlists that reflect their formative years—their Soundtracks of Pride.

Brandon Stansell is an openly-gay country singer who is breaking down walls for LGBTQ people in the genre.

"I grew up listening to mostly '90s female country—Reba, Trisha Yearwood, Martina McBride, Shania Twain, Faith Hill," Stansell told PRIDE. "It’s not that I don’t love the men (because we all know I do love men), but it’s always been the women of country music who have inspired me and been my greatest influences. Singing songs about men has always felt like second nature to me even before I knew I was gay. But if there was one song that threw me over the edge, I’d like to credit Shania Twain’s "Any Man Of Mine.""
