A conservative politician wants to know why the Left hasn't canceled the pop star – and everyone's confused.

Lauren Boebert must be having a hard time drumming up imaginary controversies right now, so she’s reaching deep into the vault and dragging Avril Lavigne into her world of drama.

The controversial Colorado representative posted a clip from Avril’s 2002 video for “Sk8er Boi,” her second single ever, asking, “Has the delusional Left canceled Avril Lavigne for this yet?”

The clip itself features the iconic opening of the song, in which Avril sings, “He was a boy, she was a girl, can I make it anymore obvious?”

It’s unclear whether Boebert thinks “the delusional Left” wants to cancel Avril over defining people’s genders or insinuating that two people of opposite gender are automatically going to be all heterosexual together. Alternatively, there could be some other thing entirely going on here — the obvious options are so inane to begin with, it’s hard to say.

What we can say is that nobody is out here trying to cancel Avril Lavigne over “Sk8er Boi,” a basically flawless song encapsulating that pop punk vibe of the early 2000s.

Pretty much everyone who responded to Boebert on Twitter seemed pretty confused at what she was trying for with this one.

Boebert previously made headlines for posting a photo of her children armed with guns in front of a Christmas tree after seeing another politician do the same and realizing it would rile people up. If she was trying to quench that thirst for attention again, her confusing tweet about Avril didn’t quite do the trick.

Sorry girl, but you missed out!
