She’s ready to be loved, and the world definitely loves her!

Lizzo released her highly-anticipated fourth studio album, Special, back in July 2022, which included her latest hit song “About Damn Time.” Now, the singer is shifting focus to the second single off of her new album, “2 Be Loved (Am I Ready).”

On Monday, August 15, Lizzo released the official music video for “2 Be Loved (Am I Ready)” featuring legendary model Tyson Beckford as her love interest. In the video, Lizzo is seen daydreaming about getting married but ultimately having a good time surrounded by her group of girlfriends.

But the ever-so-busy popstar didn’t stop there. Today, it was also announced that Lizzo will be performing at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards. As expected, the singer is slated to perform “2 Be Loved (Am I Ready)” live at the ceremony. Lizzo is nominated for four VMAs this year: Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop, and Video for Good.

Besides Lizzo, the 2022 VMAs will also feature performances from artists such as Nicki Minaj, Måneskin, Panic! At The Disco, Anitta, Jack Harlow, Blackpink, and J Balvin, to name a few. Speaking of Minaj, the rapper will receive the prestigious Video Vanguard Award this year at the ceremony.

This is shaping up to be a really iconic edition of the MTV Video Music Awards. We will absolutely be tuning in!

Lizzo’s Special is available on all music streaming platforms.
