Professional connection website LinkedIn is taking an inclusive step into the future.

Along with a slew of new features, including a new Creator Mode and the addition of a video Cover Story, you can now add your pronouns to your LinkedIn profile.

LinkedIn will begin rolling out the change on March 30 to make the site "more inclusive for every member of the global workforce," a press release reads. According to their research, "the vast majority of job seekers (70 percent) believe it’s important that recruiters and hiring managers know their pronouns and 72 percent of hiring managers believe having clarity about a candidate’s gender pronouns is beneficial and helps others be respectful of their identity."

There will be a predefined list that members can choose from that includes He/Him, She/Her, and They/Them as well as the ability to add your own custom pronouns via a free form field. Users will have the option to share it with all LinkedIn members or limit the visibility to first-degree connections.

The feature will roll out in U.S., U.K., Ireland, Canada, and Sweden beginning today.

Other LinkedIn features that help users show their authentic selves include adding your name pronunciation and the cover story video where you can introduce yourself to potential connections or employers.

Last year, the site published a survey looking at the economic impact of COVID-19 on LGBTQ+ professionals, where more than 50 percent of job seekers believed "how they represent themselves at work has changed since COVID-19, and almost 50 percent said they’re more likely to be their authentic self in how they show up vs. a year ago."
