Obama Placates Birthers by Releasing Birth Certificate: Trump Takes Credit

Announcing "we do not have time for this kind of silliness," President Obama and the White House addressed Donald Trump and the birthers and released his long form birth certificate Wednesday. At a press conference in New Hampshire, presidential hopeful Donald Trump took credit for the release of the document. The real estate tycoon and said in recent weeks he's had investigators looking into the certificate in Hawaii and has been "shocked" by what he's found.


Announcing "we do not have time for this kind of silliness," President Obama and the White House addressed Donald Trump and the birthers and released his long form birth certificate Wednesday.

In a statement made at 9:45 am ET, Obama addressed concerns he wasn't born in Hawaii and was therefore not eligible to serve as president, saying: "We do not have time for this kind of silliness. We've got better stuff to do."

At a press conference in New Hampshire, presidential hopeful Donald Trump took credit for the release of the document. The real estate tycoon and said in recent weeks he's had investigators looking into the certificate in Hawaii and has been "shocked" by what he's found.

"Today I'm very proud of myself, because I've accomplished something that no one else has been able to accomplish," he said. "I want to look at it, but I hope it's true. ... But he should have done it a long time ago."
