We’ve Got Your Back, FLOTUS: Every Time We LOVED Michelle Obama

It’s seeming that FLOTUS Michelle Obama got the short end of a stick as the result of the controversy taking place over potential future First Lady Melania Trump’s speech last night at the Republican National Convention.

As major fans of the coolest FLOTUS of all time (I mean, she is on Snapchat, and is a major advocate for LGBT rights), we wanted to show some love for the very rad, and very important, Mrs. Michelle Obama.

So what are some of our favorite FLOTUS moments?

1. Every time she chilled with our fave childhood pals

11. Every time she was as big of a nerd as the rest of us

It may seem silly to celebrate, but Michelle Obama has meant so much and played such an important role during her time as the First Lady. She’s kind, and she has a good sense of humor, and she’s an incredible role model.

Before her, we never knew, not really, that black girls and girls of color could aspire to be the First Lady, and now we know that they really can go for the stars and dream big. I mean, one day we’ll end up with a woman of color for president, maybe even a queer woman of color.

I feel it, and I know it, because I know Michelle Obama has inspired so, so many.

It’s awful to think about how much backlash Michelle Obama has dealt with as a black woman in a powerful position. She’s been subject to horrible insults and straight up racist misogyny. People don’t like to see women succeed, period, but especially not a woman of color.

But those of us who love her, love her deeply, and so admire everything she’s done.
