Texas Senator and past Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz liked a hardcore porn video on Twitter yesterday. Yes, the same Ted Cruz who has previously defended a Texas state law banning the sale of sex toys and the same Ted Cruz who doesn’t believe that individuals have the right to masturbate.
Cruz addressed the scandal with Ed O’Keefe of the Washington Post Tuesday morning, saying that "a 'staffing issue' led to" the account's "liking" the tweet in question.
"There are a number of people on the team who have access to the account," Cruz said. "It appears that someone inadvertently hit the 'like' button and when we discovered the post...we pulled it down."
Needless to say, Twitter had an absolute field day with this "accidental" liking of the post.
