MTV's new show Faking It is billed as a romantic comedy about two female best friends who are mistakingly outed as being gay. With their new-found popularity, due to their gay status, they decide to keep up the charade. Is being a lesbian now a tool for social status gain? Is this type of idea inspiring or offensive?
