CW Has Its First Bisexual Lead Character

A same-sex kiss left fans wondering where the CW’s The 100 lead character, Clarke Griffin (played by Eliza Taylor), stood on the sexuality spectrum. The kiss was shared in last week's episode and sparked Internet commentary on its meaning.

Screenwriter Jason Rothenberg graciously answered fans' questions over Twitter, confirming the character is in fact bisexual.

Griffin had previously been romantically involved with a male character on the show. It wasn't until this second season that the writers mixed it up with some same-sex love. Rothenberg hinted at the revelation last January when he answered a fan's question saying Griffin's sexuality would be addressed. "Sexuality in the world of The 100 isn't binary," Rothenberg said. "No one cares who you love."
