U.S. Women’s soccer star and out lesbian Megan Rapinoe will appear on FOX Sports’ “Ultimate Fighter” Wednesday night, along with teammate and Pro Ambassador for Athlete Ally, Sydney Leroux. The ladies are featured working out and meeting the UFC hopefuls in the preview to Episode 7.
This summer, Rapinoe and Leroux visited the “Ultimate Fighter” set to work out with the women's 115-pound weight division, who are competing to become the first UFC strawweight champion.
Rapinoe shows off some fighting skills in this short clip, prompting cast member Angela Hill to comment, “She wasn’t that bad. She might want to think about changing professions.”
Leroux told FOX Sports that the cross-sport camaraderie was something she valued from the experience. “As female athletes, it's good to be a fan of each other and push each other," she said. "We lead the same lives and it can be hard. It can be a hard thing sometimes, so knowing you have people behind you that are going through the same thing, it can be cool."
The episode airs Wednesday, 10 pm ET on FOX Sports 1.
