New Girl Casts June Raphael as Lesbian Gynocologist

Zooey Deschanel’s comedy series New Girl is getting a whole lot more gay girl appeal in the form of a lesbian character. June Raphael, who has appeared in Adult Swim’s NTSF: SD: SUV, is slated to play Jess’ (Deschanel) friend Sadie in the ninth episode, there's a possibility it will become a recurring role.

Sadie is a “smart, slightly intimidating but helpful friend, she’s an OB/GYN doctor … who’s also a lesbian,” reports EW. As quirky and wild as Deschanel and the show already are a recurring lesbian gyno character could only make things more interesting.

Fox’s New Girl won’t be on again until November 1, but now we all have reason to anxiously await the show’s return.
