This morning NBC's Today show premiered a trailer for Sparkle, the last film Whitney Houston shot before her recent death. Sparkle is a remake of the 1976 film about three girls who form a singing group, and the plot is supposed to be inspired by the story of The Supremes. Houston plays their mother, a former singer with a failed career.
In the trailer and commentary below, we see Houston singing on a TV but don't really know if there's a full musical number with her. Jordin Sparks plays Sparkle, and the movie is currently scheduled for release August 17.
