Rosie O’Donnell is never one to back down from controversy or from standing up for her rights, so when a street preacher at the Super Bowl cornered her she stood up for herself, gently at first. But when the interloper in her family fun day at the Superbowl wouldn’t leave well enough alone she let him have it with a frank admission.
A video has surfaced of Rosie, with her friends, daughter and partner Michelle Rounds, leaving the Super Bowl last February, in which Rosie attempted to talk a young, antigay fundamentalist. Her attempt at discussion with the acolyte of hate was met with vitriol from a recalcitrant street preacher who told Rosie you are, “an ungodly, wicked woman on your way to hell." He added that she needed to get saved.
“Enjoy your life behind the bigotry,” Rosie said before the street preacher taunted her to quote a single Bible verse. And to Rosie’s credit, she quoted – rather, paraphrased --the Bible saying, “Jesus wept – at you, because you didn’t get the whole meaning of what he was about.”
Unmoved by Rosie’s repeating a Bible verse, the preacher instructed her to, “go home and do the dishes. That’s your job.”
That’s when Rosie threw niceties out the window and said, “I’m going home to fuck my wife,” prompting preacher man to call her a, “pig, a lesbian pig.”
Here is Rosie fending off the preacher man:
