Gasp! That's right. Take it all in. The series, if it follows in the film's footsteps, will center around the movie's protagonists — four very very, very best friends — looking back at the summer of 1970, the summer that defined them. Insert seances, skinny dipping, and a tree house. King, who wrote the film version of Now and Then, is currently in the middle of filming the third season of Pretty Little Liars, also about four female friends, including Emily, an openly gay character played by Shay Mitchell.

No word yet as to whether the film's stars, including Demi Moore, Rita Wilson, Melanie Griffith, Christina Ricci, or Rosie O'Donnell are attached to the project but it would be fun if they’d make at least a guest appearance.

It is worth noting that eight years after Sex and the City aired its last, shows with four female leads is starting to become a trend again. Pretty Little Liars, Girls, and now, perhaps, Now and Then.

It begs the question: what movie with four females would you like to see turned into television series?
