OITNB

Orange Is the New Black is a prison drama based on Piper Kerman’s 2010 memoir of the same name. The show, which airs on Netflix and follows a cast of female characters during their time in federal prison, has won four Emmys, including Outstanding Supporting Actress and Outstanding Casting. Besides featuring groundbreaking storylines and a stellar cast, OITNB was also the big break for popular trans actress and activist Laverne Cox, who has gone on to appear on the cover of Time magazine.
