Watch: 'The Daily Show' on Women in Combat Disrupting Military 'Bromance'

Last week, outgoing Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta announced that the U.S. military will drop its 20-year-old ban on women serving in combat positions. While the decision opened up thousands of front-line positions and opportunities for promotion previously denied to female service members, some are still skeptical about the how the delicate feminine constitution will hold up to the trials of war.

Of course, the fact that women have been serving in combat positions for the past decade in both Iraq and Afghanistan doesn't hold much sway when trying to convince old sexist white guys to "evolve," as The Daily Show's Samantha Bee discovered in a special report featured on Monday's episode. After host Jon Stewart railed on those opposing the policy change, the chief women's issues correspondent spoke with Marine Capt. Zoe Bedell, who pointed out that before long, the stick-in-the-mud, old-school, sexist men who are contending that women in combat will impact unit cohesion will die off, and our brave women in uniform will continue fighting for the country they  love. 

But what about the military bromance? After all, as Kingsley Browne told Bee, "women are a distraction" to those male soldiers who just can't keep their eyes on the bullets coming at their heads when there's a set of tatas in the trench.
