Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi are making a splash down under during Ellen’s first-ever trip to her wife’s home country. Ellen, Portia and Ellen’s mom Betty DeGeneres arrived in Sydney Friday to a throng of more than 3,000 fans at the Sydney Opera House, according to the Huffington Post.

Among those there to greet the queen of daytime was Sydney native Russell Crowe, who presented Ellen with two kangaroo-hide-cattle whips, which he said she could use to catch “some brumbies” (wild horses). Apparently Ellen and Portia practiced cracking the whips after that. Hmm. Brumbies indeed.

Later, an adoring fan asked if Ellen and Portia would adopt her, and in pure Ellen form she replied, "We were just saying we should adopt someone. It's so easy for us."

Here are Ellen and Portia looking ridiculously adorable in Australia!
