Canadian sister duo Tegan and Sara premiere "Shudder to Think," a reflective synth-pop track for the The Dallas Buyers Club soundtrack. Inspired by the film, which is based on a true story of a man battling AIDS and smuggling medication in the 1980’s, the sister group channels a sound reflective of the era. And yet, it sounds better now.
“Shudder to Think” is the first song to be released from the soundtrack, one that Rolling Stone calls an “Effervescent track, musing on the chances not taken and the prospect of a life without someone special.”
For this important soundtrack, Relativity Music Group partnered with (RED) and will donate 10% of net proceeds to help finance the critical work of The Global Fund to fight AIDS in Africa, a cause the women were happy to get behind.
“With the soundtrack supporting such an important cause, we're very excited to contribute a previously unreleased B-side to the campaign," Sara Quin told Rolling Stone.
The forthcoming drama starring Matthew McConaughey, Jennifer Garner, and Jared Leto, opens in New York and Los Angeles on November 1 and in other cities later in the month.
