The Biggest Loser trainer and two-time Golden Gloves winner Cara Castronuova will be hitting the road pedaling from San Francisco to Los Angeles over the course of seven days as a celebrity spokesperson for the AIDS / Lifecycle.

Castronuova has joined 2,500 riders who’ve given tirelessly of themselves to devote time and to fundraising and to training to raise visibility and awareness and money to fund vital programs the LA Gay and Lesbian Center and the San Francisco AIDS Foundation provide to people living with HIV / AIDS. Both organizations deliver essential community programs and services for HIV education, prevention, testing and care.

“For three decades we have been fighting HIV/AIDS and both the San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center have been there since the earliest days, helping to lead that fight,” says Castronuova, said in a release. “If there is one thing that boxing has taught me, it’s to never give up—and that’s also how I look at the fight against HIV/AIDS.”

The Lifecycle, which runs from June 5-11, rolls out from San Francisco’s Cow Palace to Santa Cruz on day one and continues down the California coast through small towns to places including Santa Barbara and Ventura until the riders reach Los Angeles on day seven.

Among those 2,500 riders will be SheWired’s Editor-in-Chief Tracy E. Gilchrist and SheWired’s Associate Editor Boo Jarchow, who will be riding as Team Racks and Rims and shooting Flipcam video of the adventure and uploading it to SheWired at night.
