Would You Ever Hook Up With Someone Who Didn't Vote?
Don't be like Clint. GO OUT AND VOTE.
Would you still find yourself willing to hook up with someone, even after you learned that they didn't exercise their right to vote? Well, that's the question writer, content creator, and comedian Michael Henry asks in his latest YouTube sketch.
The answer? A rightful and resounding NO!
When Michael and his friend Chris are catching up with their other friend Clint at the park, Clint recalls how a recent hook up went south after he revealed to the man he slept with that he didn't plan on voting and wasn't even registered.
"Would you kick someone out of your bedroom for not voting?" Clint asks Michael and Chris about the situation.
"YES!" they both answer without hesitation.
"Why?" Clint then asks. "Who are you to bully me into voting?"
Michael and Chris then proceed to give Clint the read of the century, perfectly explaining how not voting, especially when there is so much at stake in this upcoming presidential election for so many different minority communities, is an abuse of power and a sign of extreme privilege.
"Who cares about immigration?? Who cares about healthcare?? Who cares about racism??" Michael asks sarcastically.
"Who cares about other people's circumstances," Chris chimes in. "Because my privilege day-to-day is probably gonna look the same!"
Considering tens of millions of registered voters didn't vote in the last U.S. presidential race, Michael's hilarious but important message couldn't be more timely.
Word to the wise. Don't be a Clint. Go out and VOTE.
