Once upon a time, GBFs (gay best friends) were the accessory every straight girl had to have. Now it looks like those girls are finally realizing the truth. We're not all that we're cracked up to be!
Comedian Tess Gattuso broke down exactly why in a video she posted on Twitter that currently has over 1.3 million views and nearly 100,000 likes. "Gay BFFs? Not as magical as Sex and the City said," reads the caption.
"Contrary to popular belief, having a gay best friend is not fun," she begins. "They are mean, teenage girl mean, but enhanced by male privilege."
The accuracy though...
Tess then proceeds to make several more points.
"They are invincible to feminine charm," she complains. "When I give puppy dog eyes to a straight guy, gay girl, or straight girl, I get what I want." When she does them at her GBF, "he doesn't give a shit."
She continued:
"Another bad thing is that they do not invite you to their gay guy dance parties. Please include me."
"They also make you feel bad because they are always doing squats therefor they have big muscles and therefor they can eat whatever they want. If I ate like them, I'd be tired all the time."
"They always want to do HIT workouts. Maybe i'd be more excited to do a HIT workout if you let me into your dance parties. I know what happens there and I'm cool with it."
"Are gay guy dance parties a safe space that my presence would ruin? Yes. Do I still stand by what I said? Yes."
Not a single lie was told. Twitter had some thoughts:
And we're still awaiting our response from Tess' GBF, Cameron. "He's trying so hard to think of a retort," she wrote in the video below:
But how can you clap back at that barrage of facts?
