Yvie Oddly, Allie X, & More Headline Queer NYC Pride Festival LadyLand
"This a festival by queers for queers, and we're proud of that," Ladyfag told PRIDE.
In the midst of NYC's WorldPride and on the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall riots, Gossip, Honey Dijon, Allie X, RuPaul's Drag Race winners Yvie Oddly and Violet Chachki, Mykki Blanco, and more are headlining queer festival LadyLand!
"LadyLand is special because it's something that didn't really exist before in NY," Ladyfag, producer of the festival, told PRIDE. "I was tired of seeing festivals with performers I wanted to see and feeling like an alien in those crowds. I wanted a festival that me and my friends would actually want to go to....and LadyLand was born! This a festival by queers for queers, and we're proud of that. It's such an amazing way to spend Pride...dancing & celebrating outdoors with so much queer talent up on stage! And this year feels extra special: it's WorldPride and we're celebrating 50 years of Stonewall."
"Being queer is inherently political, and queer spaces are so important for our community; while it might seem like just a party, it runs much deeper than that...but don't worry it's still gonna be a hell of a good time! It's WorldPride...I can't wait to celebrate with my city at Ladyland!!!"
