ESPN Magazine's Body Issue: Lesbians - Get Excited!
Tennis star Serena Williams, MMA fighter Gina Carano and Triathlete Sarah Reinertsen grace three of six covers and are featured in all their glory inside. One of my favorite photos is the shot of Reinertsen on page 52. Yeah, I am the lesbian that memorized the pages.
Dear SheWired sports enthusiasts,
This never happens to me, but I just had to write to you about it. There I was in the bookstore killing time on a Saturday night, when lo and behold, up walks this smokin’ hot woman. I was busy with the latest issue of Cat Fancy so I didn’t hear her until she repeated her question with a hand—firm, yet gentle -- on the small of my back. “We’re a little short handed in the store. Would you mind coming back to the storeroom and helping me restock the newly issued ESPN body issue? I’ll make it worth your while.”
…of course that didn’t happen. The ESPN issue hit the newsstands, but the rest (even Cat Fancy) is straight out of a Penthouse Forum letter.
Here’s the simple and sexy math. The ESPN Body Issue is to SI’s Swimsuit Issue as Penthouse is to Playboy. I highly recommend it.
From the front cover all the way to the end, ESPN has got it covered with athletes uncovering it all. The photography is exceptional and the poses range from suggestive athletic beauty to all out sinew and muscles.

One of my favorite photos is the shot of Reinertsen on page 52. Yeah, I memorized the pages. Is there a problem with that? The first female amputee to complete the Ironman, she has this great look of bliss with her arms around herself—true self love and beauty for this athlete.
For those of you who questioned how many tattoos soccer star and fellow lesbian, Natasha Kai has, ESPN has the answer on page 62. What a body and what a smile…
It ain’t all cuteness though ladies. There’s a whole section on gnarly hands and feet that have been through the fire in the name of sports. Just when you think you’re going to lose it with the scars and tears, ESPN teams up on you with whole naked sports teams. Golf, volleyball and soccer are all in the mix.
Go check it out ladies. I’ve by no means given all the sexy shots away and you might possibly be asked to help “restock” someone’s shelves while at the bookstore.
