A Gay Girl's Message to the LA Dodgers: You Were Warned About Manny!

Spring Training 2010 has arrived.  Pitchers and catchers from all 30 MLB organizations reported to training camps in Arizona and Florida last week.

High priced athletes are gearing up for another grueling six-month season, which is scheduled to begin during the first week of April.  The first televised regular season game will air on ESPN's Sunday Night Baseball on Sunday, April 4.

The Red Sox and Yankees will square off at 8:05PM EST, only after the Yankees receive their World Series rings in front of the thousands of Fenway Faithful.  Boos will be heard from Landsdown Street to west of the Connecticut River.

The young season is only hours old but the drama has already begun for the LA Dodgers.  "Manny Being Manny" is taking on a new meaning in the Southland.  Boston and Cleveland fans are well aware of Manny Ramirez's antics but this might be the first dose of reality for Dodger supporters.

In an interview with the LA Times on Monday morning Manny predicted that this would be his last season in LA and that he "is just going to try to enjoy himself."  The Dodgers' organization and LA fans were warned about how quickly Manny can turn on those who love him....they just didn't listen.

Dodger fans do not deserve this, but then again neither did the Sox and Indian fans.  One can only guess that Manny's blatant disrespect for his organization, and by extension, teammates and city, will have a negative impact on the left field corner formerly known as "Mannywood."

LA was warned that the minute that Manny felt undervalued or stifled, would be the minute that he wanted out of Dodge.  You'd think he would learn how to deal for $20 million a season.  Manny has averaged about 35 homers a year so he's being paid a little more than $500K for each long ball.

LA certainly isn't a sports town as compared to the cities on the east coast, it's the entertainment capital of the country and that's ok.  However, the Dodgers and their fans need a little less drama and a little more leadership and dedication from their star player.

When Manny was handed to LA by Boston during midseason 08 (Dodgers paid $1 million out of pocket, which was a steal for a slugger as good as Manny) the Dodgers thought they got the best of Boston.  Wrong!  Boston went on to play in the post season, forcing a game 7 in the ALCS.  More importantly, their slate was wiped clean; the Sox no longer had to deal with a plague in their clubhouse.

Hey LA, when something seems too good to be true, it usually is!
