Jodie Foster “Comes Out” Goes Viral on Facebook… 4 Years After the Fact!

In a weird Internet case of viral gone awry, a 2007 article in which “notoriously private” Jodie Foster is reported tearfully acknowledging “my beautiful Cydney” at an awards ceremony has all the Facebook gays buzzing.

The headline was excitedly shared freshly across social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter, despite the prominent time stamp of “Last updated at 08:06 12 December 2007” at the head of the post.

Moreover, it was widely reported just 5 short months after the emotional public tribute, Foster and Cydney Bernard split after 14 years and 2 sons. Tabloid claims further purported that Foster gave Bernard a rather unceremonious heave-ho in favor of a new love: screenwriter of her 2007 hit The Brave One, Cindy Mort.

The Daily Mail cited a source saying, "Cydney had no idea their relationship was in trouble until Jodie came home one day and told her she'd fallen in love with Cindy and was moving out. Cydney is devastated."

Expanding the power lesbian drama further? Mort was supposedly shacked up with Thirtysomething actress Melanie Mayron when she met and fell for Jodie.
Talk about a real-life soap opera.

But again, all of this news is years old. So the more interesting question would seem to be: Why doesn’t everyone know that Jodie Foster liking ladies is old news?
