Liberal talk show host Keith Olbermann has been a cool collected voice of reason on his MSNBC show Countdown with Keith Olbermann while television news shows have become increasingly more contentious but Friday night he bade goodbye to his audience on his final show.
Olbermann has been a tireless advocate for LGBT rights throughout his tenure on the show.
Here is MSNBC's statement regarding his departure:
"MSNBC and Keith Olbermann have ended their contract. The last broadcast of "Countdown with Keith Olbermann" will be this evening. MSNBC thanks Keith for his integral role in MSNBC's success and we wish him well in his future endeavors." Just two months ago Olbermann was suspended from the network for three nights for violating the company's ethics policy when Politco broke the story that he had donated to Democrats running for office.
