J.K. Rowling Hand Writes Tattoo for Bullied Fan

J.K. Rowling isn't shy about responding to fans and critics on Twitter, and she always has the perfect response. When Harry Potter fan Ana Kocovic tweeted Rowling, “Thank you so much for writing Harry Potter. I wonder why you said that Dumbledore is a gay because I can’t see him in that way.” Rowling replied promptly and proved she's an ally to all queer people — magical or Muggle. 

When she's not shutting down trolls, Rowling replies to tweets from her legion of fans, and even in 140 characters, she's downright enchanting. On May 11, Harry Potter fan Kate (aka @AlwaysJLover) tweeted Rowling a heartfelt note and a simple request. 

In Kate's note, she revealed she has a history of depression and self harm, and is a victim of bullying and assault. "I've been through (and I'm still going through) so many things in life ... through all the downs my in life, you helped me get through every single thing one way or another!" Kate wrote. "I will never be able to thank you enough, Jo."

Kate then asked Rowling if she could handwrite the incantation to the Patronus Charm, "Expecto Patronum." Kate plans to tattoo the script over her wrist, which is the area she's self-harmed the most. 

Rowling responded with a sincere note and what will undoubtedly become an extraordinary tattoo. 

Rowling's epic response generated more than 20,000 Likes and 6,500 retweets, and made every Harry Potter fan's world just a little more magical.
