The 27th AIDS Walk Los Angeles took place yesterday in West Hollywood with more than 30,000 participants walking to support AIDS Project Los Angeles (APLA). Each year the event raises funds to help provide vital care needs for people living with HIV/AIDS in Los Angeles.
This year participants including AIDS activists, celebrities and fundraising walkers raised $3,005,014 to fight AIDS. Craig Thompson, Executive Director of APLA, noted at the event on Sunday, “With their incredible fundraising, AIDS Walk Los Angeles participants are changing lives, powering prevention efforts, and supporting advocacy work to defend the civil rights of all who live with this still-deadly disease.”
