Sam Smith is singing the new James Bond theme song for Spectre. How well do you know the James Bond theme? For most of us, it's safe to say that we know the theme from GoldenEye 007 better because who didn't play that game on Nintendo 64? I know that song by memory.

It was released in 1997 aka 18 years ago. Feel old yet?!?!

Sam Smith announced on his Instagram how excited he is for this opportunity with this earnest note:

 

This is one of the highlights of my career. I am honoured to finally announce that I will be singing the next Bond theme song. I am so excited to be a part of this iconic British legacy and join an incredible line up of some of my biggest musical inspirations.  I hope you all enjoy the song as much as I enjoyed making it. Who else didn't realize how violent this game actually was when you were playing it? Looking back at it as an adult makes me be like, huh??!!?
