Captain Planet is coming back! And it only took the star power of Leonardo DiCaprio to bring the renowned, green-skinned environmentalist superhero back from 1990s nostalgia purgatory.
While talk of a reboot has been in the works for years, it makes sense that environmentally-minded DiCaprio would be the one to make it happen.
For those unfamiliar, Captain Planet was a popular television show that ran from 1990 to 1992 (and again in 1993 to 1996). It featured five kids from around the world, each with a power ring that could control a natural element and, when combined, would summon the superhero Captain Planet to help them battle environmental evils.
The powers included Water, Earth, Fire, Wind and, of course, Heart (awwww).
