Every once in a while, we are introduced to a true, one of a kind talent -- someone whose music affects us in uniquely profound and beautiful ways.

Sia is one of those talents.

She jumped onto the scene a few years ago with "Titanium," a song her voice would not have even appeared on had it not been for a surprise executive decision by producer David Guetta.

Since then she's become a household name with hits like "Chandelier," "Elastic Heart," and the brand new "Alive," which she co-wrote with Adele.

However, despite her massive, undeniable talent she still remains woefully underrated, and we will stand for it no longer. Here are just a few of the infinite reasons that Sia deserves more love than she gets:

1. She's versatile, creating heartbreaking ballads like "Breathe Me," as well as upbeat jams like "Cheap Thrills."

2. She uses the medium of music videos to display the incredible talents of others.

3. She can make fun of herself, such as when she played along on the Late, Late Show, acting like her face-covering wigs made her lose all sense of direction.

4. She is a recovering alcoholic and drug addict who uses her painful past experiences to create inspiring and beautiful songs that uplift others.

5. She's an incredible songwriter, creating powerful lyrics not only for herself, but for several others including Rihanna, Ne-Yo, Britney Spears, Rita Ora, Christina Aguilera, Jessie J, and -- the queen herself -- Beyonce.

6. She's human. The reason behind her elaborate wigs? She simply wants to maintain "a modicum of privacy," in order to avoid the "destabilizing" effects of having one's personal life aired for the world to see.

7. She's funny. When explaining to James Corden why she likes the "mystery" her wigs provide her, she said that nowadays "there's pictures on Instagram of everyone at the dentist," a statement that garnered big laughs from the audience.

8. She identifies somewhere on the queer spectrum. Now married to a man, Sia has been very open about past experiences with multiple genders, telling SameSame.au "I’ve always dated boys and girls and anything in between. I don’t care what gender you are, it’s about people ... I’ve always been ... well, 'flexible' is the word I would use."

9. She's brutally honest about virtually everything. Any given interview with Sia is going to be full of candor about everything from her difficult past to how seemingly easy songwriting comes to her.

10. She's a wonderful example of the power of self-care, saying "Since I made the decision to just take care of my own sanity and serenity and stuff, my life's just improved so much. And I'm honestly surprised that things are working out so well for me."

11. Two words: Carpool Karaoke.
