The pop star's next big move may be playing the misunderstood green witch in Wicked.

Ariana Grande is "in talks" to play the role of Elphaba, the misunderstood Wicked Witch of the West, in the hit Broadway musical Wicked.

Grande, who is self-professed Broadway geek, says that landing the role would be a dream come true. She caught the attention of Wicked producers when she admitted she would "do it tomorrow" if the opportunity presented itself.

A source told The Sun, "This is a huge feat for Ariana. The role of Elphaba is one of the most coveted parts to play on Broadway. Only a very select group of actresses have been chosen over its 13-year run and Ariana is in talks to take the gig. Bosses believe she’s got the acting talent to take it on and think it’s a bonus that her pop star appeal can pull in fresh audiences."

Grande already has some experience with the musical. In 2013, she recorded a track named "Popular Song" with gay pop singer Mika, which sampled from the comical Wicked song "Popular."
