Some celebrities not included in Perez Hilton’s Twitter forum on the Ms. California Carrie Prejean statements concerning same-sex marriage have weighed-in. Cynthia Nixon and Rosie O’Donnell shared their view on the new face of N.O.M.
Nixon, best known for her rold on Sex and The City told reporters, “Maybe some of the things she said were a little awkward, but I think she expressed a feeling that a lot of people have. I feel badly for beauty contestants who are put on the spot like that!”
True; she is a beauty queen and not a political representative. It’s not as bad as, say, Rep. Foxx’s misinformed and mean-spirited comments concerning the recent Matthew Shepard hate crimes bill, for example.
Never one to hold her tongue, Rosie O’Donnell skewered the beauty queen’s answer joking, “I’ve never heard it expressed that way. She said, ‘In America, you have the choice between same sex marriage and opposite sex marriage,’ like it was a flavor at Baskin-Robbins. You can have rocky road or mint chocolate chip.”
What do you think? Has one bimbo/beauty queen’s opinion blown way out of proportion or are you still steaming mad? Anyone else want to return to a pre-Prejean time?
