Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton is making headlines again for another major media faux-pas. At the core of the new Perez Hilton controversy is his overly-snarky reporting style of Michael Jackson's cardiac arrest on Thursday, according to
Mashable.comStarting the week with his widely publicized
Black Eyed Peas debacle, Perez Hilton stirred up more animosity with his breaking news blog about Michael Jackson's sudden cardiac arrest and subsequent emergency transportation to UCLA Medical Center. Perez's original post -- which has since been pulled from his
website -- reportedly pictured Michael Jackson with the caption -- "heart attack or just cold feet?" He was inappropriately suggesting the news was another one of Jackson's ploys to get out of his upcoming performance commitments in London. Hilton allegedly stated he found the heart attack "dubious," said that Jackson had pulled similar stunts before, and concluded that Jackson was either lying, or purposely making excuses.
Yet, as soon as Jackson's death was confirmed, Perez immediately changed his blog and changed his mind but not without making it publicly known on
Twitter. Simultaneously a
twitter catfight broke online in the aftermath of Perez' bitchy stance on Michael Jackson's emergency hospital admission that lead to the King of Pop's tragic death. Not only were Michael Jackson's fans calling for a Perez Hilton boycott but angry users and
celebrities, including Pete Wentz, bassist for
Fall Out Boy and wife Ashlee Simpson-Wentz, spent most of Thursday lashing out at the whiny blogger in an incendiary virtual fight. They have since collectively been supporting the growing
twitter movement to unfollow/unsubscribe from Perez's page under the tag #unfollowperez.
Perez Hilton has certainly sunk to yet another record low this week with his offensive despicable blogging about the music icon. Ironically, Michael Jackson's passing might very well be Perez Hilton's very own death, at least virtually!
