Prince Harry Apologizes for Anti-Muslim Remarks

Prince Harry has once again apologized for inappropriate behavior now that a military video diary of Harry, third in line to the British throne, has surfaced in which he made racial epithets against Muslims.

Prince Harry has once again apologized for inappropriate behavior now that a military video diary of Harry, third in line to the British throne, has surfaced in which he made racial epithets against Muslims.

Lawmakers, Muslim groups and the Pakistani public are taking Prince Harry to task for offensive terms he used in the video filmed in 2006 on a trip to Cyprus to carry out training exercises with military cadets, according to the Associated Press London.

The British tabloid The News of the World obtained and released the video in which the Prince refers to a colleague as "our little paki friend," a derogatory term for people of Pakistani origin. In another clip he calls a fellow cadet - who is wearing a scarf - a "rag head."

Reps for the Prince have said he used the term without "malice," but Cabinet Minister said called it "offensive and the Ramadhan Foundation called Harry a "thug."

The Prince has been under scrutiny for questionable behavior a few times before. He previously acknowledged drinking underage and smoking marijuana. In January 2005, he apologized after a newspaper printed pictures of him sporting a Nazi costume with a swastika armband.

"I am deeply shocked and saddened at Prince Harry's racism. It has no justification," said Mohammed Shafiq, director of the Ramadhan Foundation. "Prince Harry as a public figure must ensure that he promotes equality and tolerance and this rant whether today or three years ago is sickening and he should be thoroughly ashamed of himself."
