At least she's loyal?
The View cohost and Oscar-winning actress Whoopi Goldberg has been staunch, one could even say ravenous, in her support of alleged rapist/molester of dozens of women, Bill Cosby. Back in January, when one of Cosby's accusers, supermodel Beverly Johnson, appeared on The View to tell her story, Whoopi remained fairly obtuse, failing to fathom any of what Johnson said.
Just last week Whoopi reiterated her position on Cosby saying, "Innoncent until proven guilty in the United States of America, because that's our law."
She went on to say:
"People have been coming after me and saying they're going to snatch my family. It's like being Frankenstein, people coming after you with the fire and they're going to burn you. Not any of you threatening me or telling me you're coming after me because you don't like what I said is going to change the fact that no one has convicted him, he has not been arrested."
Whoopi closed her rant saying, "Back off me."
But now she's changed her tune. Today, in a conversation with ABC News analyst Dan Abrams, Whoopi conceded saying, "If this is to be tried in the court of public opinion, I got to say all of the information that's out there kind of points to guilt." She went on to say, "I always thought that rape cases were open-ended. What we have learned is, there's no recourse for these women except what they're doing."
Finally, she had a message for Cosby:
"It looks bad, Bill," she said. "Either speak up or shut up."
It took several months for Whoopi to come around to a place where she honored the accusers. But this isn't the first time Whoopi has stood by her man. Here are six times Whoopi stood by men accused of some pretty heinous things.
6. On director Roman Polanski, who was arrested and charged with drugging and raping 13-year-old Samantha Geimer in 1977.
"I Don't beleive it was rape/rape."
5. On Sandra Bullock's ex Jesse James, who cheated on her with dozens of women.

"I know this is really wrong to say, but it's nobody's fault."
4. On NFL player Ray Rice, who knocked his fiancée out cold and dragged her limp body out of an elevator.

"If you hit somebody, you can't be sure you are not going to get hit back."
3. On Chris Brown, who was arrested for beating then girlfriend Rihanna.

"Nobody knows what happened, so all you haters out there, just find something else to hate until you get all the facts."
2. On Mel Gibson, who spewed anti-semitic epithets when he was arrested on a DUI in 2006.

"I know Mel and I know he's not a racist."
1. On Bill Cosby...
"He has not been proven a rapist."
