New Hampshire Bill Allows for Businesses to Discriminate Against Same-Sex Couples

A bill is being considered to allow business owners to discriminate against gay couples getting married in New Hampshire. 

The state house judiciary committee is considering the bill Tuesday, which allows a business owner or employee to refuse business to any couple if they feel providing goods and services services related to the couple's wedding would violate their religious beliefs. According to the Associated Press, the bill would preemptively bar couples from suing business owners and employees for denying such service. 

Currently, New Hampshire's marriage equality law gives churches and religious groups the right to deny service to gay and lesbian couples seeking wedding services.
