Aids LifeCycle is quickly approaching, and this past Saturday more than 250 cyclists and roadies took to Los Angeles for the annual Day on the Ride, an event that mimics a day in the life of LifeCycle. This June 3rd more than 2,500 cyclists and 500 roadies will set out on Aids Cycle 11, a seven-day, 545-mile journey from San Francisco to Los Angeles to raise awareness and visibility and funds for the L.A. Gay and Lesbian Center and the San Francisco AIDS Foundation, which provide programs ranging from prevention awareness to counseling to medical.
LifeCycle’s Day on the Ride was a 77-mile adventure that began in Santa Monica and continued down the coast through Venice, Redondo and Manhattan Beaches and the mountainous Palos Verdes to San Pedro and back amidst unrelenting wind and even mild sand storms at the beach, but riders and roadies alike had one goal in mind – working together to end AIDS.
