If you’ve spent even a minute on social media in the past week, you’ve probably stumbled upon the lesbian breakup drama that has taken over TikTok.

Much like the straight side of TikTok had ReeseTeesa’s viral 50-part breakup series back in 2024, now the sapphics have their own version and it is messy.

TikToker Erin Iveson’s ongoing viral series tells the story of her breakup with her partner of seven years who “cheated on me, blindsided me, and left me for her assistant at work.”

If you’ve missed out on the series that has every lesbian in a chokehold, or don’t have the patience to wade through the more than 20-part series, we’ve got all the deets for you and how the WLW side of TikTok is responding.

Who is Erin Iveson?

Iveson is a personal trainer and fitness influencer who quickly became TikTok famous when she started sharing the dramatic details of finding out her partner of seven years had been cheating on her and the drama surrounding her eventual breakup.

She was born and raised in Kansas City, has a golden retriever named Joe (who became a source of tension during the breakup), and not only opened up about her relationship on social media — where she has over 110,000 followers on TikTok and close to 60,000 on Instagram — but also her struggles with her mental health.

Iveson started sharing her lengthy series of videos detailing the demise of her relationship on June 5 in a video that now has over 2.6 million views at the time of publication.

By June 14, she had shared 21 videos about finding out her partner had been cheating on her with a coworker, most of which went viral and currently have anywhere from 400,000 to over a million views each.

Iveson’s partner, whom she refers to as “A,” admitted that what started as an emotional affair turned physical when she slept with her assistant, “K,” while working at a gym. Prior to discovering an affair had happened, Iveson said she had been planning on proposing on the top of Mount Kilimanjaro.

A’s main complaints about their relationship seem to stem from the two women losing their spark, not spending enough time together, and A wanting kids while Iveson wasn’t interested because she’s spent her life being a caretaker.

After telling A, “You make me sick, K didn’t promise me shit, but you did,” they decided to do a 30-day trial period where they would try couples counseling and individual therapy to see if they could make things work, and A agreed to either quit her job or transfer to a different gym so that she would not longer be spending her days with K.

Iveson said she started having panic attacks every day and lost weight because she couldn’t make herself eat, and even checked into a recovery center for a couple of days because she was struggling with her mental health, but she kept pushing through, hoping they could salvage their seven-year relationship.

Iveson called the end of their relationship “the most lesbian breakup you could ever imagine,” and she’s not wrong. Instead of making a clean break after finding out her partner had sex with someone else, they keep having conversations and using therapy speak in the long text threads Iveson reads aloud in her videos, with mentions of creating spreadsheets to fix their relationship, talking about lacking intimacy, boundaries, childhood trauma, and self-sabotage.

Finally, Iveson said she had had enough and begged A to end their relationship, saying, “I feel like there is a dagger in my back and I need her to pull it. I need her to let me go if she’s going to let me go.” But she kept trying to make things work until she learned that A was still seeing K.

Iveson also admitted that she and A’s relationship started with an emotional affair while A was still married. But at the end of the latest video, she said A finally apologized, and Iveson complained that the “caliber” of person A decided to replace her with was “embarrassing."

It's unclear where the two women stand now, but it's possible Iveson will continue to post more updates.

How are people reacting to the lesbian breakup drama?

TikTok is full of people sympathetic to Iveson's plight, but there are also people posting videos questioning why she stayed in the relationship as long as she did, comments in videos complaining about Iveson using so much "therapy speak" and being manipulative, and other people who are posting their own lesbian breakup drama videos inspired by how candid Iveson has been. Other people have even complained that the text messages Iveson sent A sounded like business notes written by ChatGPT since they included phrases like "circle back" and "pain points."

Erin shouldn't have even been in that position in the first place to have to come up with a plan of repair. She's too good for her ex. #eriniveson #lesbiantiktok #storytime #cheating #wlw
