And the Winner of the Big Lesbian Summer of Love TV Poll 2014 Is...

The point is that we are all winners!

The summer of 2013 was a record breaker in terms of queer women on television, and then, the summer of 2014 came along and blew that record out of the water. When we launched our Big Lesbian Summer of Love vote for your favorite lady couple just about a month ago we counted 12 lesbian couples on scripted television from Memorial Day on. Now, with the addition of some lesbian representation on The Witches of East End, there are even more couples.

To avoid the controversy over bots, hanging chads, voter suppression, and rigged machines that we faced over the rather open-ended poll of 2103, in which we allowed fans to vote to their hearts’ content all day long if they wanted, this year we limited the voting to multiple couples once per day. It didn’t stir up the controversy we had last year and the couples that started out in the lead pretty much remained there even when we introduced a “lightning round” in which fans could Facebook their love for the top five couples.

The point is that with all of the increased representation of lesbian and bisexual characters, we are all winners! But don’t you want to know who won anyway? Here we go.
