If you haven’t already cried your eyes out at the Julianne Moore/Ellen Page starrer Freeheld, then you’re overdue. The true story of police detective Laurel Hester (Moore) diagnosed with lung cancer who wants nothing more than to be able to leave her pension to her female partner Stacie (Page) has been out in theaters for a couple of weeks. And one of the wonderful things about it is the theme song Hands of Love written by the legendary Linda Perry and performed by Miley Cyrus.

Perry and Cyrus appeared on Ellen DeGeneres’s show to perform the tearjerker of a song, and it was as could be anticipated, incredibly moving.

Here is Miley and Linda.
