Oregon Couple Sues the Cabbie That Left Them Stranded

Lesbian couple Kate Neal and and Shanako Devol has filed a lawsuit against the cabbie that left them stranded

In August 2013, a Portland Oregon cab driver permanently lost his permit to drive taxi cabs after failing to get paying customers to their destination safely when he booted a lesbian couple from his cab. Now, that couple who was kicked out of the cab is taking action by seeking $38,000 in damages, according to Pink News.

Ahmed Egal, whom the couple recalls saying, "You can't be gay in my cab," is the driver that allegedly left the couple and their friend on the side of the road in the middle of the night after witnessing the couple being affectionate towards one another.

The couple claims that after the verbal harassment from Egal, they called for a second Broadway Cab to pick them up. However, that driver also refused to drive them home after talking with the Egal, according to NWCN.

The couple and their friend finally got a ride home after finding a police officer nearby.
