Anger is not always the way, but Wanda Sykes sure channeled a lot of marginalized people's feelings when she shouted at a booing audience in Boston.

Comedian Wanda Sykes has a history of stepping up in times of national turmoil. Following the passing of Prop 8 in 2008, the hateful anti-marriage legislation that made it illegal for same-sex couples to wed in California, Sykes came out at a rally.

In the wake of Donald Trump becoming president-elect Sykes called him out as a “racist, sexist homophobic president” during a packed fundraiser at Boston’s TD Garden on Saturday to benefit the Cam Neely Foundation for Cancer Care, according to The Root.

There were several performers at the event, but you’d think that a crowd paying, in part, to see a proud woman of color and a lesbian would be on board with Wanda’s interpretation of Trump, but much of the crowd booed her criticism of him.

Still, Wanda did not back down. As the crowd booed her she dug in and shouted, “Fuck you, motherfucker. Fuck all of y’all.” Of course, the booing amplified at that point, but she held her ground. She began pointing at people in the audience who were booing and saying, “Fuck you, you, you.”

And, she didn't stop there. “How can you say he’s not racist?” she demanded. “’Grab them by the pussy’? How can you say he’s not sexist? How can you say he’s not homophobic?”

Anger may not work for everyone, but for those who need to latch on to Wanda’s fury and rage to help get through the next five minutes, the day, or the next four years, here it is.
