The View Cohosts Take on Pope Benedict over Same-Sex Marriage: VIDEO

The women of The View defended same-sex marriage following Pope Benedict XVI's denouncing gay marriage this week. 

Cohost Whoopie Goldberg opened the segment with quotes from the Pope on how gay marriage undermines the family and threatens the future of humanity. 

"Gay marriage doesn't affect my marriage," said Elisabeth Hasselbeck. "For people to actually say that gay marriage is harming marriage and the idea of marriage is inhumane."
