People's Choice Awards Go To LGBT Faves Ellen DeGeneres, Pretty Little Liars, Lady Gaga and More...

Beloved talk show host Ellen DeGeneres took home the award for Favorite Daytime TV Host for The Ellen DeGeneres Show – again! Sharon Osbourne and Modern Family’s Jesse Tyler Ferguson announced Ellen as the winner and the audience erupted in a standing ovation. She kissed her wife Portia de Rossi before stepping up to accept. Costars Lucy Hale, Ashley Benson and Shay Mitchell (who plays lesbian character Emily) were back stage to chat about the show being recognized by fans.

The People’s Choice Awards aired Wednesday and several LGBT celebs, allies and shows walked away with statues. 

Beloved talk show host Ellen DeGeneres took home the award for Favorite Daytime TV Host for The Ellen DeGeneres Show – again! Sharon Osbourne and Modern Family’s Jesse Tyler Ferguson announced Ellen as the winner and the audience erupted in a standing ovation. She kissed her wife Portia de Rossi before stepping up to accept. While Ellen has several of the awards to her name she told the audience that it never gets old.

Pretty Little Liars, the teen hit and guilty pleasure for viewers of all ages that also happens to feature a thoughtful lesbian storyline took home Favorite Cable TV Drama. Costars Lucy Hale, Ashley Benson and Shay Mitchell (who plays lesbian character Emily) were back stage to chat about the show being recognized by fans.

The juggernaut that is Lady Gaga's career continued at the awards when she landed the honor of Favorite Album of the Year for Born this Way, which features a title song that is also an LGBT anthem!

Also on the television front Two Broke Girls won Favorite New TV Comedy. The show that features polar opposites Max (Kat Dennings) and Caroline (Beth Behrs) as diner waitresses and roomies trying to make it in the recession was created by Michael Patrick King and Whitney Cummings. The hilarious comedy writer, out lesbian, Liz Feldman is also a writer and producer on the show.

Broadway belter and actress Lea Michelle won Favorite Comedic TV Actress for her role as diva Rachel on the LGBT friendly Glee.

Meanwhile, another song and dance type took home the award for Favorite Comedic TV Actor. Neal Patrick Harris won for How I Met Your Mother.
