Chloe Grace Moretz, the 15 year-old up and comer from Dark Shadows and Kick Ass, is confirmed for the role of Carrie White in Kimberly Peirce’s remake of Carrie, according to the NY Daily News.
"I've never been so happy in my life!" Moretz tweeted. "Thank you Kim Peirce and thank you MGM for the chance of a lifetime I will never forget!"
Carrie will not be Moretz’s first foray into the world of horror, she also starred in the 2010 American remake of the Swedish vampire thriller Let Me In.
Out director Pierce became a critical darling with her 1999 feature Boys Don't Cry, about slain trans teen Brandon Teena. Hillary Swank took home the Oscar for her uncanny portrayal of Brandon Teena.
Carrie is a reboot of Brian DePalma's 1976 critically acclaimed horror/thriller, based on the book written by Maine native Stephen King.
