Rosie O'Donnell Talks About Life Changing Heart Attack

Rosie O’Donnell’s life changed dramatically when she suffered a heart attack back in August. "My arms starting aching and my chest hurt,” the 50-year-old comedian tells People in the new issue. “My son, Blake, said, 'Mommy you look very white.' I told him, 'I don't feel so good, honey.'”

Since returning home from the hospital, O’Donnell has lost 12 lbs., focusing on maintaining a healthier diet. She has even gained a revitalized zest for life, telling People TV, “The heart attack has changed my life by forcing me to live in the moment and to really ingest every single second. It feels as though I’m on extended play on a video game, and I don’t want to miss it. And the thought that I could have been done was a hard thing to grasp.”

Now, Rosie says she’s looking forward to her upcoming Rosie’s Theater Kids Gala in New York City this month. “I’ve been given a second chance,” she tells People. “Make it worth something, kid.”

Rosie has had a big year. She and fiancée Michelle Rounds were married privately earlier this year after Michelle was diagnosed with Desmoid tumors.
