Out comic Ellen DeGeneres accepted her 13th People's Choice Award for Favorite Daytime TV Host last night, noting that the coincidence of her 13th victory in 2013 means the Mayans "got one thing right."
Lamenting the competitive nature of award season, DeGeneres pointed out that these awards, unlike others given by professional peers, are awarded by the fans — a distinction that makes the award that much more meaningful.
DeGeneres also took a moment to thank everyone "on her team."
"Thank you Melissa Etheridge, Jane Lynch, Wanda Sykes, and everyone who has supported me," DeGeneres told the screaming crowd.
Watch her whole acceptance speech below, and find the full list of winners — including lesbian-inclusive drama Grey's Anatomy, LGBT mecca True Blood, and SheWired personal favorite Jennifer Lawrence — right here.
