Nearly a year after her daughter's tragic death, Whitney Houston's mother, Cissy Houston, sat down with Oprah Winfrey on Oprah's Next Chapter to discuss Cissy's new book, Remembering Whitney. Her mother, who refers to Whitney as "Nippy," told Oprah she still doesn't know if the rumors that Whitney and her best friend, Robyn Crawford, were a lesbian couple, were true. But Cissy made no hesitation when Oprah asked if Whitney being a lesbian would have bothered her mother.

"Absolutely," says Cissy, without missing a beat. A visually taken aback Oprah continues to press Cissy, confirming that the Houston family matriarch "wouldn't have liked that."

Cissy candidly tells Oprah that she didn't much like Crawford, though she "turned out to be all right," concedes Cissy. Not that Bobby Brown was any better in Cissy's book.

Hear what Cissy has to say about her late daughter in a video excerpt from the interview below.
